Sad news: Yves Berthier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yves Berthier, former CNRS Research Director and founder of the Tribology and Interface Mechanics team at LaMCoS (INSA Lyon).

Yves was a scientist, a visionary, and a mentor to many. With humor, humanism, and a profound love of tribology—of science, and of life—he supported and inspired generations of researchers. A funeral service will be held at Saint-Blaise Church in Écully (France) on Wednesday, March 4, at 10:00 a.m.
